Dov-a-licious Deli

For David M. Davis, better known as “Dov,” great deli isn’t just food, it’s a lifelong passion. A self-proclaimed foodie with a Reuben tattoo to prove it, Dov brings a bold, flavorful vision to every plate. After years in the food industry and a return to culinary school at age 50 (just to learn from world-renowned pastry chef Susan Notter), he’s worked his way from dishwasher to chef, always chasing excellence.

His career has taken him through catering, restaurants, and healthcare food service, but the dream of opening a true NY-style deli in Lancaster never left his heart. With a nudge from his late wife Debbie and encouragement from friends at Southern Market, Dov finally brought that dream to life. Originally launched as Rock n Reuben, the name evolved into Dov-a-Licious Deli, a nod to his Hebrew name and signature style.

Every sandwich comes with chips and a pickle, and the menu features in-house baked Black & White cookies and real-deal egg creams made with U-Bet chocolate syrup. Locals and visitors alike come hungry and leave happy.
